Access Statement For The White Horse Inn

Introduction
The Inn is 16^th century with beautiful views of the Ashdown Forest.

With 11 en-suite rooms offering double, twin or family rooms.

We look forward to welcoming you to our country inn and making your stay an enjoyable one.

 
 Pre-Arrival

•Situated on the A264 between East Grinstead & Tunbridge Wells.
•A very limited bus service is available from opposite the Inn. 
•You can contact us by 'phone, email, or in person. 

•We are open from 11am-11pm mon-sat, 12noon-6pm Sundays/Bank Holidays (winter hours)
•Within walking distance of Holtye & Sweetwood Park Golf Clubs.

Arrival & Car Parking Facilities
•The main entrance of the Inn is at the rear.There are no steps. 
•The main entrance has two manual doors. 

•Wheelchair access throughout the bar & restaurant.
•Assistance with luggage is available if required.   
•There are approx 40 spaces in our car park,

•There is additional parking opposite the front of the Inn.  
•Water is available for dogs on request.

Main Entrance & Reception
•There are no steps in the main lobby area. 
•Registration can be completed whilst sitting in the bar area. 
•Our evacuation policy is situated on the door of each guest room.
•The main restaurant and bar are located on the ground floor.  There are no steps or slopes on route, or at the entrance to the bar or restaurant. 
•The floor surface is in the main carpet.

•There are 2 sets of public toilets, one near the restaurant and one near the bar.

Restaurant & Bar
•Seating is mixed some with arms and some without.
•Lighting is mainly natural day light.  Evenly distributed lights are on when required.
•We are able to cater for varying dietary needs, please advise staff on booking
•The bar & restaurant are open plan with carpeted, mainly even flooring
•Table service is offered in the bar & restaurant
•There is a selection of tables and chairs available of varying heights
•Lighting is mainly natural day light  whilst parts of the bar have low level lighting

  at night, there are areas which are well lit also.

  
•There is a host desk on entry to the restaurant where staff will seat you at a table
•The restaurant is table service only
•Staff will automatically take you through the menu and choices for the meal.
•Lighting is mainly natural day light whilst for the evening meal lighting is low level with candles on the table.
•We are able to cater for varying dietary needs, please advise staff on booking.

Golf
 
• Linked to a number of local golf clubs, that offer a reduced green fee to guests.

•There is 1 accessible Twin bedroom which provide specific facilities for guests with disability these include:
•Wide but light easy to open entry doors

•Grab rails around shower (vertical and horizontal)

•Emergency procedures clearly written and in large print
•Television/DVD
•Flooring in bedrooms is short pile carpet
•Flooring in bathroom is non slip laminate

•Bedding is all non-feather
•Bowls can be provided for assistance dogs food and water
•Non-smoking rooms
•The furniture is flexible in the room and items can be moved or removed on request.

•If you require any assistance during your stay please contact one of our staff.  The Owner can also be contacted via the bar.
•We have a set evacuation procedure for basic information - Alarm bells are a continuous alarm. Someone will come to your room and assist with evacuation either out of the building or to a refuge.
•There is an average network coverage for mobile phones within the Inn.
